Living Our Values Every Day

Long Term Care

Relinquishing a home of your own and moving into care involves change in so many ways and can be a frightening and lonely experience.  Our staff are selected for their compassion and understanding, as well as being skilled in the management of care needs.

We seek every opportunity to smooth the passage into care:  through careful assessment of needs, sharing of information and the drawing up of an appropriate care plan.  Respect, involvement and choice is at the heart of this process and we welcome the help that family and friends provide in the sometimes small, but important detail of the facts that inform the act of daily living.

We believe that when Courtlands becomes ‘home’, family, friends and visitors feel ‘at home’ too.

Quote from one of our families:
“We just wanted to put into words our thanks to you all at Courtlands.  We felt that Peggy's period spent with you was the happiest time she had since leaving her own home.  Everyone at Courtlands seemed to immediately know her and understand her ways (which at times needed a lot of understanding).  We thank you all for your help with Peggy during her stay and after her death your kind words and thoughts.  Your attendance at the funeral was very much appreciated.  She attained a very good age with the help and assistance of all of a true care home.”
